Who We Are
The Clinic that Cares
Abernant Veterinary Hospital has been serving the pets of Georgian Bay since 1991. Our small animal practice is made up of talented veterinary professionals who are passionate about animals and who take care of each pet as if it were their own.
We offer a range of wellness services as well as extensive emergency services should illness or accidents strike. With a caring team of vets and technical staff, you can relax knowing your pet is in the best of hands.
Meet The Team
Owner and Veterinarian
Dr. Tai is a graduate of WCVM, passionate about veterinary medicine and possibly the happiest person on the planet. Having practiced previously in BC, California, New York and here in Ontario for the past decade, she has found her permanent home in our community.
I studied Animal Biology at the University of Guelph (graduating with a BSc Honours in 2012), and completed my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College in 2016.
My passions in practice are wellness care, client education, nutrition, behaviour, geriatric and palliative care, rehabilitation, exotic animal care (special interest but not a certified specialist), wildlife medicine and rehabilitation, dermatology, internal medicine, and animal welfare. I practice compassionate care that focuses on the wellbeing of the patient using resources available to the client.
My current pets German Shepherd mix Harley, Golden Retriever Hope, and Corn Snake Frosty. I also lease a Quarter Horse named Cash in my spare time. I love animals of all shapes and sizes, but my focus is small animal primary care.
Client Care Coordinator
Hello, my name is Fenris and I would like to introduce you to my mom Dawn!
My mom used to go on all kinds of boring adventures before I adopted her, she loved to travel to far away place to work with all sorts of wild creatures and help people understand how important all these creatures are to the world.
Now, she is on the best adventure of her life, with me! I take her walking in the woods, show her all the best places to sniff, how to find the greatest sticks to chew on and let her plan the most amazing play dates for me and my friends. However the most exciting new adventure she is on, is she is working at one of my favourite places to visit, Abernant - psst … they have the best cookies, I have tested them multiple times to make sure.
Registered Vet Technician
Traci is a Registered Veterinary Technician who has been passionate about animals from an early age. Since graduating she has spent most of her career in emergency medicine but is excited for the more personal experiences general practice has to offer. She loves all aspects of being an RVT but specifically enjoys surgery and diagnostic medicine.
When she's not at work you can find Traci reading, cooking, crafting or spending time outdoors with her rescue dog, family and friends.
I am the office manager extraordinaire at Abernant Vet Hospital and have had the pleasure of working here since 2012.
I graduated Fanshawe College in 2006 with a diploma in Fine arts and an art business 'Crystal Clarke Animal Art' producing original wildlife artwork and pet portraits.
With my love for all animals large and small working here is where I have found my niche.
